First but extra special day in Morocco

What a trip so far. Here are some shots of the long but managable journey. Made more managable by stops for pain au chocolat and being introduced to mint tea - i.e. very sweet.

Monday - my birthday - was when we arrived pre-dawn at Taroudant. We bought a tea at the nearest cafe and saw the baked goods arrived. But before we had time to order one, our hosts Mohammed and his brother Abdel-Wahid had scooped us up and we were off. After ooohing and aaahing over the verdure that Abdel-Wahid has injected into the old house - that I visited 17 years ago, we were off to his nursery business - where Sophie saw how olives really grow and the kids hid in giant pots - by local transport - a caleche, which the children adored.

That evening we were feted by virtually all of the 3 generations of Mohammed;s family and I got to present my crew. We were served much food and a fine cake. The children were presented with handmade velvet caftans - which is great because it is decidedly chilly here...
