They slaughter sheep, you know

Wednesday will be one of the Eids - sorry but i am not keeping track; it is the little one. Everywhere there are sheep awaiting their fate. The kids they are cute - and a little smelly; They see them in peoples homes and gardens, being trolleyed along to some waiting car or tied to the roof buses and crammed into trucks. We keep trying to explain that they all will be killed for Eid. Not sure if the message is getting through.

Hilarious Jo -- I remember being in Bombay for this Eid (it's Bakri Eid, by the way, which starts off the month of Hajj) -- there were goats EVERYWHERE for days, in parking lots, on sidewalks, in every nook and cranny of the streets, all tied up. And then they all...disappeared.... (and the occasional cow -- but very rare, seeing as it was India and all). ps. say hi to Mohammed!
