The biggest night of the year

Once again, Mr Dad did a great job on home-made costumes this year. After wearing them to school and ballet class and a friend's party, it was time for the real McCoy. Our little kitty (who didn't want to wear her paws even though her hands were cold) and our brave firefighter (who ran to each new house as if there were a fire to extinguish and not just candy to grab) trotted around the neighbourhood last night, with the Monopoly man.

I noted a number of cross-dressing dads (our dear neighbour was Amy Winhouse - you can see him sparkle and twinkle in the back of one snap; M was a wonderful witch, even though he upset Sophie with his cackles). In the end, after he had stopped his wicked noises, dad and daughter made a lovely pair - witch and black cat (he is holding her - for some reason extra long - tail); thanks Nana and Carrie.

The haul was even more enormous (and peanut-filled...) than ever. Seb had spent the day negotiating swapping contracts with his sister. Note how well-organised Sebastian's piles are (how come he doesn't do that with his laundry or books or toys) versus his sister's giddy heap.

We are off to the kiddy dentist tomorrow to check in on Seb's unusual tooth growth. There, I hope, we get a definitive opinion on the "one a day till they forget, but brush well" versus "gorge till you drop, brush and toss" debate. Anyone want to weigh in first?

-sigh- I loved Hallowe'en as a kid. There's something about all that candy. Now, of course, I can buy candy, but it's just not the same!
Been having fun this snowy Vancouver morning catching up on your news. It's fun!
