Sunday was as hot and sunny as last week, and thus I chose a much shadier trail. Whilst it was often on roads, we didn't encounter a single vehicle. Seb grabbed a stick and we were off!
It's the season for apples, blackberries and figs, but sadly the crop is poor this year. We hunted and hunted for blackberries and came home with barely a handful of small, low-juice fruit. Instead, I bought fresh figs at the market and will turn them into a tart, as well as a lovely-sounding dish of figs & dates in saffron syrup.
