So many birthdays!! 2022 v2

Since this child was home, I was treated to a homemade cake - except Seb started at 9 pm - without all the ingredients! 🤣

There were plenty of hugs. Lucky lucky Mum!!

Play ball!

In our usual seats

Does anyone else go to the game with bags full of stuff "just in case"?

2020 starts with some good times!

New year and yes, new gifts

including an amazing, personalised map of Jo's life (to date!)

The festive gang!

The only photo from the New Year's Day Open House! We really must do better... Maybe I'll ask the 35 people who came if they have any snaps.

Planet gazing with the teen

Seb, his fancy new camera, and I went to U of T on Saturday and did some planet-gazing with the Dunlap Lab. Well, about 2894 other people were there, so mostly we waited in line for an hour and gazed at the night sky (and then saw Jupiter through a telescope for 90 seconds).

One of my favourite pics in a long long time

We saw the beautiful, 96% full moon too.

Boys of summer

Our boys of summer are not doing so well in 2019. But it just don't feel like summer is complete without seeing them swing the bat, hearing the hawkers sell their beer, chanting with the crowd.

It sprinkled on us; they closed the roof; I was happy because I don't have to see the CN Tower loom over me. We lost.

Dear Evan Hansen

And so the evening "dawned". We were heading off last Thursday to Dear Evan Hansen - the tickets being our main family gift at New Year's. Two young and talented song-writers had stormed the Tony's a few years back (the show won 6!) and gone on to great success with other projects (La La Land & The Greatest Showman) too.

Ready to go with his fancy shirt and Dad's jacket

Trying to get our teen to crack a smile
There it is!

I was ready with my supplies
While we knew we were leaving Mary Poppins and Caillou in our rearview mirror, I am not sure that we parents were fully ready for this bittersweet musical about teen suicide, belonging, and parent-teen relationships. There were some laughs, there were some tears, and then we headed home...

1st Family Date Night

With $20 + parking in our collective pocket, we headed off to the Distillery district on Saturday night to experience the TO Light Festival. Sophie and I had been one quiet weekday evening last year. This was much, much busier which was fun.

It was cold! So in addition to a stop at SOMA - the chocolatier - we warmed up with beverages at Balzac's.
