The children have skied almost every weekend of the last two months - much to one or both of their chagrins (One doesn't hide it!). And yet they are great skiers and know how much benefit they get from being active and outdoors, as well as how much joy both their parents get. Mike & I have each dashed away for a mid-week ski and I have rejoiced at not only skiing in but to High Park when the snow was fresh and fluffy. It's been the break that I need this long and tumultously boring COVID winter.

Warm enought to ski in my fleece in HP |

The road trip - minus the usual pitstops |

And a friend, knowing how much I am thriving on skiing, made me a headband! |
And the baton has been passed, as Mike wrote:
"It must be said officially: Seb has better skate ski technique than I do. Impressed watching him smoothly offset ski up hills. (Most of the photos I took of him yesterday were from behind because he was almost always ahead of me.)
The children had promised to "chase the snow" with me this weekend. So with a fresh lemon cake, snacks and a packed lunch, we headed north yesterday. It didn't quite go to plan as the car acted up. So no skiing and no photos... We limped home the slow route, passing a lovely village with cafes & shops - to be explored in the summer. It was stressful, but not scary and the teens were champs!
