First hike of 2021
S,S and M headed off for the first hike of the year (it's so mild that snow would be hours and hours North) this weekend. They were at Terra Cotta conservation area, which was pretty dry for this early in Spring but glorious weather. Seb wasn't having enough excitement, so he started goofing around and took quite the tumble! Good things he is 17 and not 52 or 73!
I love these shots

It's been a busy 6 days
A new to us sofa, kindly delivered by a neighbour and carried in by another one! The source was a former Grove family and they stencilled that wall themselves - can you imagine, George & Lorraine!!
>
A broken faucet in the bathroom that eventually required a replacement and a plumber's visit
proof that our dog sheds and sheds and sheds - but that our new dryer catches it!
With restrictions prolonged again, things are getting desperate around here...
Test drove a new to us car & remounted the treadmill with the lad - no photos!
And then today, Persian New Year (happy Nowruz to all!), the tenant's kitchen faucet mysteriously gave up the ghost - so another faucet was rapidly acquired and the plumber is back. Ka-ching!
What will Sunday bring...

To relieve February boredom
In an effort to get through this trying winter, I launched a "Fab Footwear for Fridays in February" group and about a dozen of us shared our best socks every Friday. Very colourful and fab! Can you spot which ones came from our household?
OK this one is obvious!

Skiing: COVID-style
The children have skied almost every weekend of the last two months - much to one or both of their chagrins (One doesn't hide it!). And yet they are great skiers and know how much benefit they get from being active and outdoors, as well as how much joy both their parents get. Mike & I have each dashed away for a mid-week ski and I have rejoiced at not only skiing in but to High Park when the snow was fresh and fluffy. It's been the break that I need this long and tumultously boring COVID winter.
Warm enought to ski in my fleece in HP |
The road trip - minus the usual pitstops |
And a friend, knowing how much I am thriving on skiing, made me a headband! |

It's clearly all about the food
To celebrate IWD and roomie Kate's birthday, we had a Banjara feast!
And then, on hearing that young miss likes devilled eggs and with our neighbour discarding a special plate, I made some (and almost froze them in their hiding place under the BBQ cover!)
But then the weather switched and it's sunny and warm, so today we had an impromptu meal on the porch - along with the grime and being truly Canadian, road salt & the shovel!
