Pool party!

I have lovely memories of pool parties in early high school. Our apartment building had an outdoor pool which did us 0 good through long Montreal winters. But then April would arrive and then May and then finally it would open and I would spend chunks of the summer pretending that I could tan when in fact I was protecting myself from a burn. Oh and daydreaming about James Bond movie shoots and Jaws...
So the lovely Camp Oakville crew let us take over their trampoline

and swimming pool

Their dog was highly concerned for the girls and had to be consoled by being allowed to float alongside them.

There was ice cream and a cake and lemonade. And we stayed so late that we had some pasta and salad too. What a lovely way to mark the last week of school!

Let's Dance 2019

3 performances over 2 nights

Her Spanish-inspired dance
All the Saturday evening performers (it's lovely watch the development of the 4 family friends too)

The lovely ceremony that the school does for Grade 12s - and the last one in that building

Convocation address

A certain someone was invited (on our friend Marc's recommendation) to give the convocation address to students graduating from the Schools of Media & Trades at Niagara College.

He even made the local news. Topic of his address? Being proud of the work that you do.
Love that guy and his work ethic!

No picture required

Learning to appreciate our more introverted daughter.

Me: Do you want to come shopping with me? I could do with some company.

Her: Will there be lots of people?... Maybe I could go part way with you on the bus.

Finally, some warm weather!

Our lovely neighbour is away for a few days, so said we could hang our laundry on her line today!

Last night, Seb & I dropped by the local park to see the first 1/2 of the big (and winning) game. Saw lots of friends of course

The vibe was great - loads of families and young adults - with low levels of drinking and toking
My teen cartwheeled

and handstanded home - and yes, those ARE shorts

What a cold and miserable Spring

It's only our neighbourhood flowers that gave me any boost.

our tulips could be poppies

next door - and seen from our bed!

really poppies, 10 days later

It was so cold that I turned the fireplace on in June...
