Their dad (who is known to love a newspaper or two) was prompted to wonder aloud whether newspaper adoration (and transit info sheets) is bred in the bone.
Hallo Wedgleys in Vancouver, Enjoying the pics and news. Continuing Sophie and Sebastian following in the footsteps with newpapers......... Also, will these loves continue on through the generations? Gingham, particularly blue and white Stripes: for clothes, home - everywhere! Liberty commissioned patterned scarves, fabric. Rich colours and swirly floral intricate designs on carpets. Kaffe Fassett patterns; He designed a zig-zag knitted skirt - gorgeous stripes of course - in Sunday UK paper long ago. Carol now accumulating his striped textiles for quilting. Huge number of his books published, maybe more quilting than knitting now. Wicker baskets - including child size, filled with cherries, from two senior tourists in France; then larger ones for shopping and toys (remember the cane suitcase used for years!); small wicker crib, then large on wheels for Wedge babies. Grandma took adult basket weaving class and made a large floral basket with handle. Also from same school came a very detailed and time consuming (often had to be unpicked!) tailoring course; she perservered, but another jacket did not follow! Tennis was a grandparent love as well; they certainly played when younger and avidly followed Wimbledon all their lives. Grandpa, of course, played serious football into his twenties and was a good runner too. Garedening is already repeated in the next generation. Have been adding to this list over time. To be continued..................
I watch the Vancouver weather as well. It seems rather British, but S & S seem to be enjoying themselves regardless. Hope you both are too..................Love Sylvia
