An abundance of flowers

Our garden is coming into peak flowers - tulips, 1 daffodil, end of the hyacinths, lilac starting to bloom, and the peonies shooting up tall.

I snagged a box of pansies left for the taking at the side of the road. Christine next door lent me the blue pot & Heather traded a slice of cake for some potting soil!
My spiky faves
Aren't they glorious!!

These in the backyard seem to have been in a mud slide (where are the stems and leaves?!)

And then there is the magnificent magnolia next door

Not all the flowers are outside (and isn't MMJ's cake gorgeous!)

Every room should have flowers

Virtual brunch

The first brunch included prosecco! (Only the once sadly)
One of the best things we have done during the lockdown is a Saturday virtual brunch. We invite another household - usually from far away - to "dine with us". It helps to set the weekend apart form other days; it serves as a reason to make some fine food, set a nice table, perhaps get dressed up in something other than sweats (you hear me, Sophie?)
We take turns being chef - this was scrambled eggs and veggie sausages and savoury muffins

One week was a sweet loaf and fritttata

Here you can see how we set up our guests at the head of the table

Flowers and fruit take pride off place next to the food - this time bagels and lox

Our fab lad - a chip off the block's block

Today is the birthday of one mighty fine fellow. Sadly I have no new photos of him to share. So I will focus on his grandson instead.
He purchased another video game - this one about dispatching and managing emergency response vehicles

In his Concord Floral cast sweatshirt

Singing along to his tunes
When you ask him to do laundry, you get clean - but very crumpled - clothes

Emulating his sister's carry the dog techniques

He does sometimes love that dawg

But he doesn't always want to be snapped by the parental paparazzi

As per usual, leading on the hijinks

The most fabulous of gals

The gorgeous smile that lights up her eyes

That goofy grin and her love of Asian nibbles

Who knows what life will bring, darling Sophie but the sky is the limit!

Our dear magnolia

From oh, March 1st, we live in anticipation of our neighbour's magnolia breaking into full bloom. We watch its buds everyday from our bedroom and update each other. It's the finest in the neighbourhood by far and with the cherry blossoms in High Park off limits this year, it got even more visitors than usual

Since we can't get out and about much, we had afternoon tea under the tree
I even cut the crusts off the sandwiches and Seb had his first egg salad sandwich!!

Spring sun with the children = happiness

Lots of High Park

The Easter egg hunt

Just another homemade pizza night

His 911-like game

That’s one determined girl

Sophie felt that D was stinky. So she shampooed him in the tub. He wandered around the house shaking himself for about 30 mins afterwards.
