Making the most of autumn

Various squash from our friend's mother's farm. Ready to be roasted in our pristine, new oven!

Autumnal colours - think burnt orange, dark brown, olive - haven't been in fashion in years it seems. But since I love them and they suit my complexion (and Seb's), I said to hell with it, and put together some snazzy outfits. The tweed vest is a new to me find from VV; on closer examination it has a few holes...

This merino wool top is also new to me, while the shoes have been in storage for oh, 15 years or so! They remind me of Virginia Woolf.

And then there is High Park. We have all benefitted from it in different ways. So grateful that we live so close to its glory (though I do NOT wear those glorious leather shoes there)

Even - or perhaps, especially - the dog loves it

Fooling about for fashion

Last week, Sophie and I were on a bit of a fashion run - a big box of cast-offs from a friend, a couple of trips to Value Village/s and a decision to paint our faces!
Office chic next year?

A little glitter for under a cardigan

I miss those eyes...

Her new to her green converse!

Wide-eyed

Summer look for 2021?

Not so sure...

Love this colour!

Glittery

Liked the look but the belt wasn't well made

Would have been a fun Hallowe'en coustume.

One of her happy places

A virtual annual meeting

Usually, I would have been away last week for the annual meeting of the Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action - Geneva. Nairobi, Bangkok, etc. 2020 version was online - 1/2 days over 2 weeks
Some mornings started at 6 a.m.

So in a reverse of exam week, the kids had my dinners and dog-walking  covered

Sophie seems very committed to protein!

Thanksgiving - pandemic version

When there was a mix up about the pumpkin pie, we opted for Ed's pumpkin pie ice cream. Super yummy!
After dinner, it was time for a board game and then some grateful reflections

Once COVID-cleared, we headed on a walk with friends and oh, chose the busiest spot in the city - Etienne Brule park where the salmon were swimming up the Humber.

In the background, our physically distancing friends. What a weird Thanksgiving!!

And then on Monday, Sophie got her pie!
