Lakeshore campus with our girl & dog

Summer ebbs away

The last run to the garden centre to prep the front yard for cutting back & then snow. And I find this in the ground.

And so it begins

Almost 6 months to the day after schools closed in Toronto, our duo headed back to the classroom.
First day of HIGH SCHOOL!!
Math and ICT here she comes.

First day of the LAST YEAR of high school!!
For the first "quad", he has PFit (Personal Fitness), coupled with Chemistry every other day.

A new reality - going on line to do your daily pre-school health check.

Dastardly critters

First came a random tomato "wedged" into my window (just 10" from my sleeping head)

Then came a 1/2 eaten stolen tomato left to rot outside my bedroom window

The next day the culprit came to polish it off.

I swear that at this point my not very productive tomato plants are just a squirrel meal plan. SO FRUSTRATED!!!

Summer holiday week - part 2

The 2nd place we visited was our Toronto neighbour's "cottage" on Georgian Bay. My galpal and I drove to Barrie - with a pitstop for lunch in Orillia and a few farmers markets - to pick Seb from the GO train.

The bounty that we bought driving across central Ontario

Using their laundry line here & in Toronto

Georgian Bay on a grey day - we had a terrific storm but also glorious blue skies

The decor of this magniificent Franco-Ontarian log house - one of 5 in a row built for a set of siblings.

Our hostess Alison trying my inagural chilled berry soup ( a hit with my duo)

The menu plan - we ate well! Serving up the trout from the Bay
We had the most delicious & varied scones c/o  "Wendy B's" local deli

The teens were in good spirits throughout - and loved to see me squirm through a risque card game...

Glow sticks and a bikini - oh my!

Ready to plunge in

The weekenders

Look at the house behind and the water!!

And this is the "bunkie - which is winterised....

What an incredibly special place and somewhere I will dream of for months. The teens had such fun and there was "just enough" wifi.

Summer holiday week - part 1

So in addition to camping and canoeing with their dad and visiting their grandparents, and working/being at camp, we 3 squeezed in 6 days (2 for Seb the working lad) with friends.
Fenelon Falls and the "uncles" cottage

We indulged in creamy ice cream at the Kawartha Dairy factory

This pretty much sums up the 4 days - them doting on us, domesticated wildlife, etc
Sturgeon lake

oh, and this floating chair. Sophie loved it
