Anticipation

I have asked to be taken by the whole family to see this gem. At least I hope it's a gem. The last time I organized a birthday movie outing for myself it was a dud. And I had dragged 6 friends along... Everyone seems excited by this pick though.

Annual trip to Value Village for costuming

Sophie and her dad headed out to search for key elements of her Halloween costume. No prizes for guessing what she will be. NO IDEA what Seb will be; no doubt, all in some mad panic on Monday night or even Tuesday afternoon...

A dawg and his gal

We went for a lovely hike along the lower Humber 10 days ago. Saw the salmon spawning. Impressed visiting Lisa with our nature outing. And had a chance to play with our pup.

Growing up so fast

Yup that's my coat AND my scarf...

Sophie takes the TTC a lot and sees promotions... Thus for 3 weeks or so, she has been hankering after Starbuck's Pumpkin Spiced (decaf) latte - a PSL - or is it a SPL???
Anyway, she had a gift card (from 11 months ago!!) and so we split one.
Not evenly, I should add.

Never met a stick that was too big
Freshly laundered

His oh so innocent and companionable face

Shopping with Sophie

First, one needs to hydrate (and then use the loo)
then one needs to find the fun at the shops
and the cuddly
and the beautiful

Oh what culture vultures

Last week was a very busy one - full, just chockablock full with cultural events:

Sunday - 7th cousins - an interactive play performed by two of our friends (and yes, "7th" cousins). It started with tea and pie!

Monday - hunkered down with my love for some appointment tv - we decided to watch the 6 part Alias Grace series together

Tuesday - dashed out to see an emerging artist - the singer-songwriter Charlotte Cardin from Quebec, where she had won "La Voix" a few years ago. We loved her (and not the main act...) and are excited that she is coming back to headline in March.

Thursday - off to see the ever wonderful Billy Bragg perform in celebration of the 70th anniversary of Toronto's Horseshoe Tavern. A great venue, as we were about 5 people back from the stage

Friday evening was one of my book clubs (and I made delicious soup)

Saturday - I headed off to Stratford to see a performance of The Virgin Trial by Kate Hennig (the script was just shortlisted for a GG). It was a super play and I wish I had seen the first in the trilogy of Tudor queens. Rosalind & I drove down - what a great way to catch up, had a quick lunch, saw the play, looked a few book shops, had a coffee and headed home. Lovely day out!

Sunday - I was tired....
