Many moons ago, we were thrilled to find out that the Eardleys could come to visit us again in France - the 3rd year in a row that we have spent some time together!!
Visitors are a good excuse to get out and about - especially in August when there is soooo much to do |
This was medieval day in Monflanquin |
Lovable Nell |
and her drinking horn |
We watched a dramatic tale with horses - the blind knight |
Most of our gang |
One day, the parents went out for lunch |
A lovely time was had |
and when we got home, we discovered that the children had set themselves a lovely table but not consumed any lunch... |
Instead, Nell was hitting the bottle at age 8 |
Clearly it was time to put them to work |
and work they did |
20 centimes for every dandelion root they dug up (but they need to show the root) |
Nell was tickled with the 5 euros she earned |
And Sophie earned even more!! (10.50) |
Meanwhile, the older ones went on a massive blackberry picking trip and were rewarded with our praise, a bit of cash and a lovely tart. |
Speaking of lovely, look at this sweet cheddar that the Eardleys brought us |
Don't break my heart |
There don't seem to be any photos of the lovely afternoon canoeing the Dordogne. But we saw them quickly when we passed through Brighton.
