Coming soon to a haunted house near you...

The kids and their dad started the annual Hallowe'en costume process this weekend. They kicked it off with a visit to Value Village (the 2nd hand clothing/item chain). Seb didn't feel inspired but my, oh my is Sophie into being a vampire (her own Steam Punk version, of course)!

Some autumn fun in Canada

The library had been open about 15 minutes before our first child dashed there to pick out some books (on top of the dozen that had been pre-ordered).

A range of blondes

Fun to see all the cousins together and to reflect on what "blonde" looks like

Visit from "home"

some great app, clearly
We have a number of friends who are living abroad at the moment enjoying various forms of sabbatical. Co-members of the Dovercourt Young Reader Society, former classmates at Dewson and the Grove, Patti, Rich and their trio of offspring trekked to visit our village this weekend. Both sets of kids rejoiced in old friends, speaking English, talking books, playing games, and some hijinks.

Rich & Patti kindly used the garden to shuck and consume their fresh oysters from Arcachon

Scones!

I am trying to bake after school with the children (usually Sophie) once a week. This week was scones and we even spoilt the dough, so Seb could have some fresh out of the oven when he got in.

Fashion icons

OK, it was just us messing about
Some of you long and loyal blog followers will remember this post - and thus, why when we broke out a new set of hair nets bowl covers, we placed them on our heads. There is a snap with the 10 year old but I figured he was too cool for us to share it publicly.
