First days in BC

Ready for the Folk Fest - come rain or shine
Some after-dark hoop fun with Olivier
enjoying Klondike Kate's hot tub
and bubbles
Dream on, Sophie

Bound for the Island

and having a blast!

Mum & Dad sharing a Nanaimo bar

High spirits on the waves

You can take a man out of France...

Long range vision

Learning about local sea life
Now might be the moment to say that my camera lens appears to have a scratch on it - this will not be resolved soon...

Cousins!

There is nothing like some playtime on a beach with your cousins.
The kids spent a glorious day with both blood and extended cousins and a terrific time was had by all!

Honeymooners

It took a family vacation in Vancouver to cross paths with Sophie's kindergarten teacher who is Toronto-based but was passing through on her honeymoon. Thanks Amanda!

Too late

Remember my post last month about Sophie's potential piercings phase? Looks like it wasn't very far in the future... Look what their wonder-crazy auntie Mary did with the kids!!

Good thing they were temporary (dangerous magnet balls but temporary!).

Home truths

Sophie: How can you two bear sleeping together?

Me: me and dad you mean?

Sophie: ya. I mean no one can bear sleeping with me because I kick.

London, arguably the transport hub of Europe

At St Pancras station, we managed to gather almost all of the Webley/Crawley/Wedge/Tefays (plus Auntie R). The others were sorely missed and thus we are already planning for Summer 2015!

wandering through Auntie R's conservation park

Sophie and the young wild fox

Proof of the lengths that this Auntie goes to see her nephlets - all the way to Heathrow on the Picadilly line in summer heat without a complaint! Thanks sis.

Par-eeeee

Sebastian and I left for the summer holidays on Bastille Day. First stop, Paris to surprise an old school buddy who was passing through with his family.
One stylin' dude on the train to the city of haute couture
Where he met some well-plumed females

Seb and his brood of heritage chickens
There were some amazing creatures

Bastille night fireworks at the Eiffel tower - glorious orchestral accompaniment too
Seb catching up with his dear friend.

all 4 kids were terrific traipsing round the various tourist sites
You can see that it is the Musee d'Orsay, and I swear that is is Sebastian and his buddy!
A little gymnastics of course
Treating my travel buddy to an ice cream on the quays of the Seine
Playing scrabble in these nifty bookable pods along the Seine
And we went to see the summer blockbuster exhibit on Star Wars - as one does in Paris...
Auntie Lisa and the Eiffel Tower (and some amazing pain au chocolat)
Auntie Lisa's lovely Barclay
On our way to dinner and a movie, we took a tourist snap of the Opera Garnier
The buddies saying goodbye - part 1
the buddies saying goodbye - part 2
the buddies saying goodbye - part 3
Till Toronto!!
