An oldie but goodie

Our family enjoys playing Mastermind - a game from my childhood. In fact, we still have the old set on which the barely legible gift tag reads: "TO: Don and Sylvia  FROM: the London    We hope you become as addicted as us". If my aunt and uncle were still Londoners, then the set is 30+ years old (thus the crazy photo).

So this holiday season, we counted the remaining pegs and decided it was time for a new set. Bit fancier but still the same great game of logic.

Where did the snow go?

It got so warm last week that all our snow melted. It was raining in ski country, so lessons were cancelled. Instead, we opted to take visiting Auntie Jeet on a walk through Toronto's ravines. 7.7 kms of muddy trails later, we abandoned the hike. Never let a mountain goat be in solo charge of the map...

A typical day

home from school they read & play (and bicker a bit)
Too late, they climb into bed - together at the moment - with masses of books and a doll or 2; very very late, they fall asleep

Falling in love some more

Not that we were ever out of love with our village but we gained access to a closed-up building this summer and gained some new perspectives

Belated Happy New Year!

Seems like I forgot to post up our New Year's celebrations -
good thing "a better blog" wasn't my new year's resolution.
May it bring you all happiness, wisdom and health
Seb loves to organise the presents

and open them!

Starts with a flurry

It's family ski season # 4. Back at Horseshoe Valley and loving all the snow!

check out my new hat - now I need to knit myself a matching/complementary neck-warmer
We are set to ski every Sunday AND have a week get-away booked for the first week of February. We have some great novels lined up to read in the car. Sebastian (and Sophie) can't believe his luck!

And look at this great benefit
